The Blind Oracle is a bold visual investigation into the intersection of archetypal purity and perceptual manipulation in the digital age. The piece belongs to the Neo-Iconography series, a project in which the artist Gualini reworks aesthetic canons and historical figures through the prism of Artificial Intelligence.
The central figure, an albino woman with an impassive expression, recalls the ethereal stillness of Renaissance and Baroque portraiture. She embodies a silent oracle, whose purity symbolises an uncontaminated, almost otherworldly truth.
However, her gaze is denied by two birds of intense cobalt blue, a chromatic element of disruption that acts as a veil. The bird, a classic symbol of vision and spiritual freedom, is here transformed into an obstacle, suggesting that truth or identity in the digital era are perpetually filtered, mediated, or obscured.
Gualini generated this highly symbolic composition by orchestrating Artificial Intelligence algorithms, followed by meticulous selection and post-production.
